CSUSB Children's Center
The Children's Center mission is to enable parents of young children to attend Cal State San Bernardino by providing convenient childcare in a nurturing environment which supports the developing child.
Services are also available, as space permits, to faculty and staff of the University as well as to the surrounding community. Fees for services are based on family size and income.
The Children's Center provides a comprehensive education program for children ages 3 to 6 and an educational after-school program for children ages 6 to 10.
Hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., M-TH (6 p.m. on Fridays).
The school-age program is offered M-TH from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In addition to educational/child care services, the Children's Center also offers parent education and referral services. Further, the center is an active learning site for university students. Students gain hands-on experience in observing and working with children through course work, research, lab assignments, internships, and/or employment.
The Children's Center also works closely with the local community as an advocate for children and families. The center bases its developmental philosophy and teaching techniques in the most current and widely respected research in child learning and development. The Children's Center believes that each child is unique and deserves respect, consistency, caring and challenge as they grow. Teachers at the center who plan, implement, and evaluate the curriculum hold child development permits.
